What is it about a mothers love?

I like these little moments, these little interactions between mothers and their babies. There is a dynamic there that can't be missed and can never be faked. My favorite images are always the ones that seem organic, and once in a lifetime. I feel that way when I look at these images from today's session. I feel that way anytime I look at a session involving a parent and a child.

This is Leona and Mr. Jack. They came in to visit grandpa and grandma this week and I was thrilled that she asked me to come photograph a little while today. Leona moved in next door when I was ten. We played barbies, built forts, and listened to some pretty strange music in those years it took us to grow up. I use the words, "grow up" loosely, but only on my behalf. Leona has taken that leap into motherhood and while the main focous today was Jack (as it should be) I couldn't get over seeing this playmate, turned mother and getting to watch that love flow. Tomorrow, I'll post a few sneaks of Jack, but tonight, I just can't get over the images of the two of them together. The make my heart beat a little fast and feel kind of gushy. That's kind of a big deal.
