In front of the lens.........The First Snow.

Yesterday evening my new lenses arrived at my door, and this morning so did three inches of snow. It's kind of felt like Christmas! New lens and snow! YEEEEHAWWW. Anyway early this morning, I bundled up and headed out to play in the snow. In hindsight, I do wish I remembered to grab my gloves and my tripod, but my fingers are warming up and slowly forgiving me and I'm excited with some the pictures despite the low light and high ISO. If you know me , you know I'm not married to my tirpod, in fact, we are barley on speaking terms. Maybe next early morning snow I'll grab it and see what happens. Here it is, the first snow, in front of the lens.

Snow! I am a big fan of photographing in the winter as you get to see what is hiding behind all the leaves. The composition is great here, and in some instances you can get a speeds high enough without a tripod but it is good to bring it along.

If the legs of the tripod get cold what you can do get some pipe insulation foam at your local home improvement store cut it in pieces and place it around the top leg section so you don't have to grab the cold tripod. Just wrap it with duct tape. May be ghetto, but it is cost effective.
