In front of the lens........My Almost Children.........
Well, Lindsey and Gavin aren't almost my children, they pretty much are. I don't have kids of my own, but if I could choose a few, they would be my pick. I was 20 when I started babysitting the kids. Lindsey was just barely four and Gavin was 9 months old. A summer job quickly grown into, almost, a decade of laughing, learning and growing. Their mom often tells me that I grew up with her children. I think she maybe right. They are apart of my family and my life's just all the fuller because of them. Life is fast. Fast! Fast! Fast!!! Anyway, I got the call to come and stay with them for the weekend, and so I packed my bags and my camera and I found myself staring at a toothless grin, and big hazel eyes. They were some of the first little people I had ever photographed. For a long time they have captivated my lens. This weekend was no exception. They were eager to go out for ten minutes yesterday and just goof around with the camera. I like to photograph them every chance I get, because I love going back and looking at how much they've changed and how much I've changed along with them.Sometimes serious moments are hard to come by when we get together, I couldn't wish for it to be any other way. Their mom will be horrified to know that I took a picture of Gavin and I'm posting it on here for all the world to see. Gavin lost a bet and had to shave his head and on top of that, he's lost four teeth. I just call that a recipe for a memorable picture. Anyway, here they are in front of lens, missing teeth and all!
